8U Mites

At the Mites level, kids improve on their existing skating abilities as well as learn the fundamentals of hockey. At this level, there is greater emphasis on learning hockey fundamentals including skating with the puck, passing, positions, etc. Game play vs. other developmental teams is introduced early in the season, in addition to regular practice.

The Mites play in the Kips Bay Cup League vs other local NY schools and organizations.

Birth year: 2016-2017

Season: November thru Mid March

Practices: Approx 30 on-ice practices

o Sundays 10:00 - 11:15 AM @ Kips Bay Ice Rink (Bronx)

o Weekdays (players should attend one of the below, and are welcome to attend more if they wish):

Tuesday 6:30 - 7:45pm @ Kips Bay Ice Rink (NY/NJ Families)
Wednesday 6:30 - 7:30pm @ Aviator (Brooklyn Families)

Games:

Approx 10 game season will be played on Sunday Mornings at Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, plus playoffs.
